About oskar&ellen

Our business concept is to design and develop innovative, fun and colourful products that stimulate children’s learning, imagination and role-play. All kids love to play and learn! Our products are designed by Petra Rigby Jinglöv (mother of Oskar and Ellen) and made of soft padded fabric with beautiful attention to detail. They have been carefully designed with children in mind and are all tested and loved by children all over the world. While some of our products are suitable for younger kids, most of them are designed for kids three years and older. All oskar&ellen products are handmade by women in sewing studios in the Philippines. We do not mass produce and therefore each product is unique in itself. Our production is ethical and mindful of the environment. We pay regular visits to the sewing studios in the Philippines and have a close partnership with the staff that we have known and worked with for ten years. We believe that parents of today appreciate unique and fun products of premium quality and with an educational element. We believe that quality is always better than quantity.

Petra Rigby Jinglöv founded oskar&ellen AB in the year of 2000, the year her son Oskar was born, two years after her daughter Ellen was born. Petra and her family lived in Asia for many years.

“I got the idea to develop toys since we often did longhaul flights with the kids. I couldn’t find any toys that were educational, soft, quiet (to avoid co- passengers from getting annoyed) nor easy to carry with us.” Petra and her family have moved back to Sweden and the company is based in Stockholm.
